Who We Are
F. Miller & Co. is a South Australian steel fabrication and mechanical engineering company based at Ottoway in the Port Adelaide area. We're a general engineering firm in the fullest sense — we design, fabricate, machine, wire, and install.
The business operates as a partnership of specialist divisions covering fabrication, mechanical and material handling, wine machinery, and on-site construction — which is why "& Co." is accurate: this is a company of multiple disciplines working as one.
Our strongest emphasis is on stainless steel fabrication — we carry stock, we have the processes, and our workforce has developed deep expertise working with it across decades of projects in wine processing, chemical plant, food processing, water treatment and mining.
Quality Management
F. Miller & Co. has held AS/NZS ISO 9001 certification since 1999 — a quality management system that governs how every job is quoted, tracked, inspected and documented.
For customers, that means traceable materials, documented weld procedures and inspections, and a consistent process regardless of the scale of the job. For regulated work — pressure vessels, Class-1 pipework, registered pressure equipment — that documentation is essential. We've had the system in place long before it became common in our sector.
Design Office
Our drafting team has collectively accumulated over 50 years of experience within F. Miller & Co. They understand not just how to draw it, but how to build it — because they've seen it built here, time and time again.
Fabrication and structural drawings in AutoCAD. 3D solid modelling in Inventor and SolidWorks for complex assemblies.
Design to ASME, API 650, AS1210 and relevant Australian Standards. Experienced with both local and international specifications.
Registered designs for pressure vessels and pressure piping. All designs documented and traceable through the quality system.
The Brand
The FM mark — drawn from the geometry of a steel plate join — and the amber-ruled wordmark lockup are a new identity system for a business that's earned its reputation over many decades. The same precision and discipline that goes into the engineering goes into the identity.
