A 2,400+ m² workshop with six overhead cranes, a registered design office, a registered electrical department and qualified trades across every discipline — all under one roof in Ottoway, SA.
Steel Fabrication
F. Miller & Co. fabricates in stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and duplex stainless steel — from light structural work through to heavy-duty plate fabrication for pressure vessels, tanks and industrial plant.
Our workshop is configured for large-format work, with a long-bed layout and overhead crane coverage across the full floor. Cutting, rolling, pressing and forming are all in-house — no sub-contracting the preparation work.
Welding
F. Miller & Co. maintains a full welding capability across all common processes, with a full-time welding supervisor certified to AS1796 and AS2214 — and the ISO 9001 quality system to back it.
Precision tungsten-inert-gas for stainless steel and light alloys where quality surface finish matters.
High-deposition MIG and pulse MIG for structural and heavy-plate fabrication.
Shielded metal arc welding for structural applications and site repair work.
Certified welding for AS1210 pressure vessels and boilers. Full documentation and test records.
Pressure Equipment
F. Miller & Co. holds registration for the design and fabrication of pressure vessels to AS1210, and for Class-1 pipework. Our design office works to ASME and API 650 standards as required by project specifications.
Fabricated and registered to AS1210. Full material traceability, weld documentation, hydro-testing and inspection records.
Registered Class-1 pipework for process, chemical and high-pressure services. All materials and welds fully documented.
Above-ground storage tanks and vessels to API 650 and ASME standards. Carbon steel, stainless and duplex.
Machining
Our machine shop handles turning, milling, drilling and precision work — with bed lengths to 4,000 mm and swing to 900 mm diameter.
Assembly of conveying systems, pneumatic lines and hydraulic circuits is carried out in-house alongside the machined components, allowing complete sub-assemblies to be delivered and installed as finished units.
Electrical & Controls
F. Miller & Co. operates a registered electrical department within the workshop — meaning electrical work is completed alongside fabrication, not after it. Switchboards, control systems, PLC programming and industrial wiring are all handled in-house.
Main and sub switchboards designed, built and certified in-house. All compliant with current Australian Standards.
Programmable logic controllers, HMI interfaces and control system integration for automated plant.
Plant wiring, cable laying, test & tag and ongoing electrical maintenance for industrial facilities.
Design Engineering
Our drafting team has collectively accumulated over 50 years of experience within F. Miller & Co. — designing to ASME, API 650 and AS1210 in AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorks.
Inventor and SolidWorks for complex assemblies. AutoCAD for fabrication and structural drawings. Full as-built documentation.
Design to ASME, API 650, AS1210 and Australian Standards as required. Pressure vessel and pipework design registers maintained.
Design, procurement and fabrication co-ordinated through our project management team. Single point of contact from enquiry to delivery.
Site Installation
F. Miller & Co. provides site installation services — structural steel erection, bins, silos, conveyors, stairs and platforms. A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is prepared for all site work. We take the project all the way.
